Minor traffic violation leads police to suspects in Wal-Mart theft

Peachtree City police arrested four people suspected of being involved with a recent theft at the Peachtree City Wal-Mart Supercenter as the result of a traffic stop for a minor traffic violation.

The officer who stopped the vehicle Jan. 13 noticed that the suspects were acting nervous, and the investigation later revealed the suspects' connection to the Wal-Mart theft, police said.

The following persons were arrested as a result of the traffic stop:

Franklin Harris, 33, of Tucker for forgery in the first degree (party to a crime), forgery in the second degree (party to a crime) and obstruction of a police officer

Michael Moore, 30, of Tucker for forgery in the first degree (party to a crime), forgery in the second degree (party to a crime) and theft by deception (party to a crime).

Tina Thompson, 30, of Griffin for forgery in the first degree, forgery in the second degree, theft by deception and theft by receiving stolen property.

A fourth suspect, who police were unable to positively identify immediately, was also arrested and charged with forgery in the first degree, forgery in the second degree, theft by deception and theft by receiving stolen property.
