Coutry comes to town!

"NORTH COUNTRY RIVER CHARTERS ALASKA" THAT IS!

WILD GAME DINNER!!!

TUESDAY FEBRUARY 4TH 6:30 PM

One of my favorite TV shows used to be the "A Team." I would always laugh when they would get into some terrible situation and through miraculous skills, they would leave the place in flames and total disarray. Then Murdock would smile and say, "I LOVE IT WHEN A PLAN COMES TOGETHER!!" Well Folks the "Plan HAS come together!" Mark your calendars for Tuesday February the 4th at 6:30 PM for a fun filled HUNTERS AND FISHERMAN'S Evening. I'd better say "Hunters and Fisherpersons." The reason I say this is we have a wonderful lady in our church who is one of the best hunters I know. Bobbie Evans will put Chuck her husband and I and lesser hunters to shame with her ability to bring home some really nice deer. To top that she is one of the best cooks in the South Eastern United States. I hope to see you there Bobbie.

This evening will be special for many reasons. First of all, two different churches are coming together for this fellowship dinner and event. Our church, "His House Community Church" on GA Highway 85 South Senoia, and "Prince of Peace Lutheran Church" Highway 314 Fayetteville (near Lowe's), will be getting together to enjoy this outstanding event. The Wild Game Dinner will be at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church. My dear friend and prayer partner Pastor Justin Kollmeyer has offered their beautiful church fellowship hall for this event. Our menu will consist of Moose and Buffalo burgers with some of the "fixins". Any man who says he doesn't like a good burger with the "fixins" will lie about anything!! The tickets are $6.00 each and we have room for only 200. You can get your tickets from "Cindy" at the church secretary's office at Prince of Peace Lutheran church Fayetteville (770-461-3403) or from Pastor Herndon at His House Community Church (770-719-2365). If you have ever read more than say five of my articles, you will hear me mention "Alaska" somewhere. I suppose we eventually get around to talking and writing about the things we truly love. For me this is truly the case. At our Game Dinner we will hear from two great sportsmen, and two great Americans, Bill O'Halloran and John Grimsley. Bill O'Halloran is the owner of North Country River Charters, Fairbanks Alaska. I go up each year as their Chaplain and have had many a wonderful night around the campfire sharing hunting and fishing "tales" and watching God's finger painting in the sky we call the Northern Lights. There are some images and feelings we keep deep in our hearts and in our "minds eye" that we recall periodically, just to enjoy them. This is what memories are made of. I will never forget the time Bill and I spent seven hours out on a point doing a "double team call-and-rake" ceremony to attract Bullwinkle. It finally paid off! Bill looked at me with the strangest look on his face and said "your bull is coming out right there, and pointed to a spot on the ground. Talk about "dances with wolves!!" Sure Nuff, Bullwinkle broke out of the woodline with a grunt which in any language said "LET'S FIGHT!" I will finish this story at the "Wild Game Dinner" and most of what I say will be the truth!

As if "North Country River Charters" was not enough to fulfill your hunting and fishing dreams, John Grimsley Has teamed up with us which truly rounds out a classy hunting and fishing operation. As part of a more complete hunting package, John operates "World Class Expeditions" which expands our operations to Mexico, Argentina, and Texas. This "expanded operation was featured on TNN's Stihl Csonka Outdoors TV show 2001 and our "Trophy Northern Pike" fishing expedition was featured on TNN's North to Alaska outdoors show in January 2002. More to follow on these "monster Northern Pike" that Bill calls "Water Wolf" at the dinner!

Prior to "World Class Expeditions" John played linebacker for ten years in the National Football League. John began his Pro career in 1984 as a sixth round draft choice of the University of Kentucky where he led the Wildcats in total tackles for three years. During his seven years as a linebacker for the Houston Oilers, John earned All-AFC honors and was selected to play in the 1989 Pro Bowl. In 1991 John was traded to the Miami Dolphins. In 1992 he was awarded the NFL's Ed Block Courage Award and finished his tenth and final professional football season in 1993. As someone who loves you, I would tell you to get your tickets early. We only have room for 200 this time around. As you fellowship with other Christian hunters and fishermen around your table, I encourage you to bring your hunting and fishing pictures to share with everyone. Who knows, you might just meet the best hunting and fishing partner you ever had. To God be the Glory great things He has done! Never forget that "All good and perfect gifts come from God. This game dinner will be one of those good and perfect gifts. See you there!
