The Coweta County School Board decided Tuesday night to maintain the tradition of holding their meetings at the county's schools.

Tuesday's meeting was held at Eastside Elementary School in Senoia, while next month's is set for Feb. 11 at Elm Street Elementary in Newnan.

The board members said the system was working well and said the community had responded favorably to having the board members in the community.

In keeping with the tradition, the board will stage their June and July meetings at the Jackson Street administration center in Newnan when school is not in session.

In other actions, the board:

Approved board members attendance for Georgia School Board Association training during the year.

Awarded a bid for band instrument storage lockers at East Coweta High School To H.E. Hodge for $22,116. Superintendent Peggy Connell said the school system had worked with the company before and Hodge is one of the few companies that makes lockers for band instruments.

Approved several new policies including a purchasing policy. The policy requires any contract over $7,500 to be voted on by the board.
