Christopher Lewis Austin


Christopher Lewis Austin, 24, Fayetteville, died Dec. 27, 2002. He was born March 19, 1978 in Clayton County. Services were at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints with Bishop Jennings officiating. Interment was at Camp Memorial Park, Fayetteville. Survivors include his mother, Jeannette Austin, Fayetteville; and a sister, Teri Stucki, Atlanta. Carl J. Mowell & Son Funeral Home, Fayetteville, was in charge.

Larry Coleman Paris


Larry Coleman Paris, 62, Tucker, Ga., died Dec. 28, 2002. He was born March 14, 1940 in Columbia, Tenn, the son of the late Claude and Margaret Paris. He was preceded in death by a son, Michael Wayne Paris. He had been employed with Evans Toyota for over 20 years and was the owner of Rent-A-Wreck in Forest Park. Services were at the Bill Head Funeral Home, Tucker. Survivors include his wife, Dianne Paris; a son, Todd Paris, Fayetteville; a daughter, Joni Paris and Richard McLemore, Fayetteville; and grandchildren, Madison McLemore, Benjamin McLemore, and Abigail McLemore, all of Fayetteville. Bill Head Funeral Home, Tucker, was in charge.

B. Clarence Hannah Jr.


B. Clarence Hannah Jr., 70, Carrollton, formerly of Fayetteville, died Dec. 29, 2002. He was born Jan. 5, 1932 in Franklin, Heard County, Ga. Services were at the Carl J. Mowell chapel with the Rev. Bill Priester officiating. Interment was at Westminster Memorial Gardens, Peachtree City. Survivors include sons, Richard Wayne and Deborah Hannah, Jonesboro, and Stanley and Sheena Hannah, Franklin; grandchildren, Brandon Hannah, Kevin Hannah, Will Hannah, and Dana Hannah and Bill Martin; and special friend, Nadine Bednar, Carrollton. Betty M. Burks


Betty M. Burks, 76, Fayetteville, died Jan. 2, 2003. She was born March 4, 1926 in Fulton County. Services were at the Fayetteville First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Dr. Sam Matthews officiating. Interment was at Westview Cemetery, Atlanta. Survivors include her husband, Haskell Burks, Fayetteville; sons, Michael D. and Susan Burks, Alpharetta, and Alan and Laura Burks, Celina, Texas; a daughter, Laurie and Ivan Killen, Norcross; nine grandchildren; and a sister, Patricia McLarin Beaty Sorrell, Tyrone. Memorial donations may be made to the United Methodist Children's Home, 500 Columbia Drive, Decatur, GA 30030. Carl J. Mowell & Son Funeral Home, Fayetteville, was in charge.

Sarah A. Gilroy


Sarah A. “Sally” Gilroy, 62, Peachtree City, died Dec. 31. 2002, after a two-year battle with cancer. She was born March 25, 1940 in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, N. Y. She was preceded in death by her parents, Hughie and Mary Gilroy, brothers, Hugh Ed Gilroy, Stephen Gilroy, and Bryan Gilroy, a sister, Maureen Kenna, and a niece, Kathy Matlock. Services were at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Peachtree City. A memorial service will be held at St. Cecilia’s, Brooklyn, N. Y. Survivors include her children, Matthew and Cathy Wisniewski, Elmhurst, Queens, Linda and Larry Terry, Morrow, and Mark Wisniewski, New York, N. Y.; grandchildren, Ava, Cara, Stephen and Frankie; and 13 nephews and nieces.

John Watson Bottoms


John Watson Bottoms, 91, Peachtree City, died Jan. 1, 2003. He was born July 7, 1911 in Graceville, Fla. Memorial services were at St. Andrew’s in-the-Pines, Peachtree City, with the Rev. Father Dan Brigham officiating. Survivors include his wife, Ruth Bottoms, Peachtree City; a son, John “Jack” Bottoms Jr., Carrollton, Ga.; daughters, Carolyn Coe, Carrollton, and Christine Niehaus, Ankeny, Iowa; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Memorial donations may be made to St. Andrew’s Memorial Fund. Carl J. Mowell & Son Funeral Home, Peachtree City, was in charge.

Thomas V. Loyd


Thomas V. Loyd, 83, Fayetteville, died Jan. 3, 2003. He was born Feb. 24, 1919 in Fayette County, the son of Don and Lucy Rebecca Whitlock Loyd. Services were at the Carl J. Mowell chapel with the Rev. Bill Priester officiating. Interment was at Flat Creek Baptist Church cemetery. Survivors include his wife, Frances A. Loyd, Fayetteville; a son, Thomas Donald and Janet Loyd, Fayetteville; a daughter, Rebecca and Marvin F. Cook, Milledgeville; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Carl J. Barbara Janice Shore


Barbara Janice Shore, 55, Fayetteville, died Jan. 3, 2003. She was born Aug. 1, 1947 in Carroll County. Services were at the Carl J. Mowell & Son chapel with the Rev. Wendell Jones officiating. Interment was at the Brooks Memorial Cemetery. Survivors include her husband, Kenneth Shore, Fayetteville; a son, Derrick and Blythe Shore, Zebulon; grandchildren, Trey Jones, and Landon Shore, Zebulon; and a sister, Patsy Redding, Williamson.
