Wednesday, January 8, 2003 Centex Homes unveils two model homes at Monarch Village While a model home has become a standard fixture in today's communities, Centex Homes is adding new elements to the model home concept to make the home shopping experience more consumer friendly. At Monarch Village in Henry County, Centex Homes recently opened two decorated models homes. Kim Ryan-Smith, sales manager for Centex Homes, believes the presence of two models is essential to show homebuyers the tangible evidence of the product variety offered by Centex at Monarch Village. Centex Homes' decision to have two models is based upon consumer research. The company found that while model homes were helpful in the purchase decision, many homebuyers wanted to see a model home that had no upgrades and reflected the actual price of the home. At Monarch Village, Centex addressed these concerns by having a standard model and an upgraded model. "The consumer response to the two models has been terrific," said Ryan-Smith. "They appreciate being able to see first-hand the standard package, while also visualizing all the extras." Centex will be building 83 homes in Monarch Village priced from the $130s. In addition to Centex Homes, Monarch Village has a full compliment of builders with home styles ranging from traditional to turn-of-the-century, priced the low $100s to over $400,000. To complement Monarch's builder team, the community offers resort-style amenities in an unrivaled setting. Monarch's amenity offerings include a water park with slide tower and water mushroom, a 16-acre lake with boating and fishing facilities, a soccer field, basketball courts, a variety of neighborhood parks and tot lots and miles of walking trails and sidewalks. In addition, Monarch offers an advanced technology package including high-speed Internet access, structured wiring and a custom-built community Intranet. An on-site elementary school will open at Monarch Village in 2004. Monarch Village is convenient to both downtown Atlanta and Hartsfield Airport. To visit, take I-75 South to Exit 228. Go right on Highway 138, and turn left on Speer Road. Then take a left on Walt Stephens Road. Monarch Village is located two-tenths of a mile ahead on the right.
