Lora Bea Ford
Lora Bea Ford, 70, Greenville, S. C., formerly of Fayette County, died Dec. 16, 2002. She was born Feb. 16, 1932 in Eldred, Ill, the daughter of the late Ross and Dorothy King Newton. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Brian Robert Ford, Nov. 9, 2002. Services were at the First United Methodist Church, Jerseyville, Ill. with the Rev. Mike Pennell officiating. Interment was at Valhalla Memorial Park, Godfrey, Ill. Survivors include her husband, Walter E. Ford, whom she married on July 18, 1950; a son, Dennis and Linda Moon Ford, Jerseyville; daughters, Denise Ford and Ron Smith, Peachtree City, Ga., and Rhonda Ford and Jim Halford, Denver, N. C.; five grandchildren; three brothers; and two sisters. Jacoby Funeral Home, Jerseyville, Ill., handled the arrangements.
Floe E. Havens
Floe E. Havens, 83, Union City, died Dec. 16. 2002. She was born March 13, 1918 in York, Pa. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Havens. Memorial services were at the Christian City chapel with Chaplain Carl Ryden officiating. Survivors include a daughter, Susan Stephens, Fayetteville; a brother, Charles Anstine, York, Pa.; and three grandchildren. Carl J. Mowell & Son Funeral Home, Fayetteville, was in charge.
Walter Lewis Johnston
Walter Lewis Johnston, 91, Peachtree City, died Dec. 18,2002. He was born Nov. 22, 1911 in Denver, Colo. He graduated from Colorado State University with a bachelor of science in electrical engineering. He worked for Westinghouse Elevator Division, Jersey City, N. J. for 42 years. He was active in church committees, civic associations, and the Boy Scouts. Services were at the Peachtree City First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Chuck Hodges officiating. Interment was at Holly Hill Memorial Park, Fairburn. Survivors include his wife, whom he married on March 8, 1941, Leone B. Farmer Johnston, Peachtree City; sons, Ernest and Evelyn Johnston, Robert and Susan Johnston, and Glenn and Joan Johnston; all three sons attained the rank of Eagle Scout; 15 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. Sara Eloise Barnard
Sara Eloise Barnard, 82, Union City, died Dec. 17, 2002. She was born May 27, 1920 in Hapeville, Ga. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kerry Don Barnard. Services were at the Southwest Christian Church with the Rev. Dr. Jim Donovan officiating. Interment was at Sherwood Memorial Park, Jonesboro. Survivors include a son, James F. Barnard, Fayetteville; daughters, Elise and James Shanley Jr., Tega Cay, S. C., Jenny and Donnie Pardee, Fayetteville, and Kerri and John Lunsford, Jonesboro; grandchildren, Heather Lunsford, Eric Barnard, Erin Pardee, and Alexander Barnard; a brother, Alexander King, Decatur; and a sister, Mary Critchell, Franklin, N. Alma Pauline Dickson
Alma Pauline Dickson, 81, Cumming, formerly of Fayetteville, died Dec. 19, 2002. She was born Jan. 11, 1921 in Illinois. She was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil M. Dickson. Services were at the Fayetteville First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Dr. Sam Matthews officiating. Interment was at Camp Memorial Park, Fayetteville. Survivors include her daughter, Linda and Marty Williams, Dawsonville; grandchildren, Kristina MacAuthur, Fayetteville, and Angela Lackey, Williamson; great-grandchildren, Kayla Lackey, and Rebecca Mac Authur, both of Fayetteville; and a sister, Helen Reilly, Milford, Ma. Mattie R. Jordon
Mattie R. Jordon, 85, Fayetteville, formerly of Deland, Fla., died Dec. 20, 2002. She was born Sept. 7, 1917 in Fulton County. Memorial services will be at a later date. Survivors include a daughter, Joanne McEachern, Fayetteville; grandsons, Jason and Freddye Carrera, McDonough, and Jeremy and Amy Carrera, Senoia; and two great-grandchildren. John A. Zabrauskas
John A. Zabrauskas, 77, Peachtree City, formerly of Oaklawn and Chicago, Ill., died Dec. 21, 2002. He was born Oct. 21, 1925 in Cook County, Ill. He was a veteran of the United States Coast Guard in World War II, and general manager of Bernard Foods Industry for 50 years. A memorial service was held at the Carl J. Mowell chapel with the Rev. Father John Walsh officiating. Survivors include his wife, Eunice Zabrauskas; children, Michele, Jan, and David; a grandchild, Nicolas Gilmer; and siblings, Ann, Joseph, Stanley, Sophia and Edward Zabrauskas. Carl J. Cora Lee Noles
Cora Lee Noles, 88, Fayetteville, died Dec. 19, 2002. She was born Jan. 19, 1914 in Fayette County, the daughter of Johnnie F. and Mattie Lou Banks Harris. She was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Albert Noles. Services were at the Carl J. Mowell chapel with the Rev. Dr. David Chancey and the Rev. Maria Wells officiating. Interment was at the Mann Cemetery, Clayton County. Survivors include a son, Johnnie and Helen Noles, Hampton, Va.; a daughter, Brenda and Terry Thompson, Piedmont, S. C.; granddaughters, Joni Thompson, and Kelly Thompson; a great-grandson, Brendon Thompson; a brother, C. B. Harris; and sisters, Nancy Farr, Eliza Ward, and Edna Granade.
