South Fulton Medical Center hosts women's seminar

Free food and screenings, talk one-on-one with a physician

South Fulton Medical Center announces its upcoming "Let's Do Health" sessions. These sessions are free and open to the public and include an opportunity to talk one-on-one with a specialized doctor, a question and answer session, free giveaways and light appetizers.

"For Women by Women: Women's Cancers, signs and symptoms" will be presented Tuesday, Jan. 28, 6-8 p.m. in the SFMC Auditorium at 1170 Cleveland Avenue in East Point.

This session will feature board-certified gynecologist Natalie Hoshaw, M.D., who will talk about the signs and symptoms of gynecological cancers.

"Causes of Vascular Disease and Current Treatment and PVD Screening" will feature vascular surgeons Albert Tagoe, M.D., and Steve Hwang, M.D., who will educate community members about heart and vascular disease. These sessions will be held in the South Fulton Medical Arts Center, Classroom, 1136 Cleveland Avenue, East Point. Wednesday, February 19, 5:30-6:30 p.m., talk one-on-one with Dr. Tagoe about Vascular Disease, and there will be session at 6:30-7:30 p.m. on PVD Screening.

There will be a second session of "Causes of Vascular Disease and Current Treatment and PVD Screening" on Thursday, February 27. 4:30-5:30 p.m. Talk one-on-one with Dr. Hwang about Vascular Disease and at 5:30-6:30 p.m. learn about PVD Screening.

South Fulton Medical Center, a 392-bed acute care hospital was acquired by a subsidiary of the Tenet Healthcare Corporation in April of this year, when it joined four other hospitals that comprise Tenet's greater Atlanta network. In addition to emergency care, the hospital offers cardiac care, physical and occupational rehabilitation, inpatient oncology, ambulatory surgery and labor and delivery. The hospital also has a level two neonatal intensive care unit.
