'Can Hunger' runs through Dec. 31

More than 2,300 people in Fayette County will go hungry this holiday season without help from the local community, according to a group trying to help feed needy families in the metro area.

The Atlanta Community Food Bank and Kroger have teamed up for "Can Hunger 2002," a food drive and fund-raiser for the area's citizens living in poverty.

All money and nonperishable goods that are donated stay right here at home, benefiting the Atlanta Community Food Bank and Fayette County residents.

Citizens can help to fight hunger three ways. They can purchase a "Can Hunger" box at any local Kroger store for $7; drop off canned goods; or make a donation at any Kroger register. The drive runs until Dec. 31.
