MUNFORD The Fayette County Sheriff's Department has arrested a Fayetteville man for the armed robbery of a woman at her north Fayette home last week. Joshua Wade Gates, 20, used a black handgun when he entered a residence in the Dix-Lee-On subdivision and took three credit cards from the victim Dec. 10, according to warrants for his arrest. The victim was tied and bound with duct tape by Gates, who also prevented her from leaving the residence or calling for help, the warrants indicate. During the incident, Gates forced the victim to move from the kitchen to the den area, the warrants said. Gates entered the residence with the intent to steal jewelry, warrants said. He got away with two credit cards, intending to use them without the owner's permission, according to warrants. Gates is charged with felony counts of armed robbery, aggravated assault, burglary, kidnapping, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime and two counts of felony identity fraud.
