The Old Campbell County Historical Society is sponsoring a Christmas Tour of Homes on tomorrow. The event will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Tickets are $10 in advance or $12 at the door. Student tickets are at $5.

The tour will begin at the Old Campbell County Historical Society in the old county courthouse.

Six homes are on the tour and include the W. T. Roberts home, R. C. Beavers home, W. A. McCurry home, J. W. Amoss home, Longino-Word home, and the Chapman-Williams home.

The Chapman-Williams Home, 81 East Broad Street, Fairburn, was built in 1897 by Edward B. Chapman. A Confederate soldier, he used the same first floor plan as the Davenport-Jones house, being built the same year.

Many of the bricks in the front walkway were made on site and the granite used in the walkway is from Stone Mountain.

There are five coal-burning fireplaces, floors are heart of pine and the ceilings are over 14 feet tall.

The current residents, Keith and Jackie Williams, are very involved in the Southside Theatre Guild and have won many awards for acting and for technical achievements.
