'Lord's Place' thrift store in Grantville seeks donations

The Lord's Place Thrift Store in Grantville, a personal ministry of the Roy Smith family, is seeking donations for support money and materials for missionaries in the U.S. and abroad. It offers saleable throwaway items donated by individuals and churches. Smith states that 100 percent of the money raised from the sale of items goes to missions.

Smith and his wife, Donna, are members of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Moreland, where they are both mission directors.

The store is presently accepting toys, gift certificates, certificates for food, and cash donations to help those in need during the holiday season. It also accepts furniture, electronics, clothing, cars and trucks. The Smiths also will help clean out barns, garages, attics and basements.

A current project is sending Bibles to members of the Armed forces stationed at distant military bases. A $5 donation purchases a Bible and Smith says he will put the names of donors on the inside, if they so choose. The ministry recently sent 100 Bibles to Jamaica.

The store is open Wednesday through Saturday from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m.

For more information on donations or the thrift store, call the store at 770-538-2012 or Smith at home, 678-423-7212.
