Wednesday, December 11, 2002 Jones wins Professionalism Award Jonesboro-based Tim Jones Communities came away with a coveted Professionalism Award at the 22st annual Awards Banquet to recognize the most outstanding professionals in Atlanta's home building industry. The 2002 black-tie awards dinner and program, held Nov. 9 at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta, was presented by the Greater Atlanta Home Builders Association and the Atlanta Sales and Marketing Council. The program gives members the association the opportunity to compete with their industry professionals in building, remodeling, marketing and personal achievement areas. This year, 41 industry professionals traveled to Atlanta from across the United States during August to judge the hundreds of entries. Tim Jones Communities won a Silver Award for "Single Family Detached $130,000 to $159,999" in the category for companies building 100 plus homes a year. The winning house is located in Calloway Village at City Square, a community in McDonough. Tim Jones Communities is a 22-year-old organization which is currently the leading builder in the Clayton/Henry area of Metro South. The company is now building at a pace of between 250 and 300 new homes a year. The owner and president is Tim Jones, who has been involved in building since he was 19 years old and was the 1998-99 president of the Greater Atlanta Home Builders Association and is also a past president of the Metro South Home Builders Association. He was the 2000 Builder of the Year for the Greater Atlanta Home Builders Association and the 2000 Builder Member of the Year for the Home Builders Association of Georgia. In recent years, he and his company have been recognized with the prestigious Diamond Builder award from 2/10 Home Buyers Warranty (HBW), the nation's leading 10-year home buyer's warranty program, for a proven track record in superior construction standards, design quality, and outstanding customer service.
