Pfeifer taken to hospitalBy JOHN
THOMPSON
Fayette County Commissioner Peter Pfeifer remained in intensive care Wednesday at Piedmont Hospital after a crippling headache sent him there last Thursday. Fayette County Commission Chairman Greg Dunn said he's spoken with Pfeifer several times since the incident, and said he's in good spirits. Doctors are still trying to determine the exact nature of his illness, Dunn added. "He had a really excruciating headache Thursday and went to the hospital. Right now, they're calling it a brain bleed," Dunn said. The doctors first thought it could be an aneurysm or a stroke, but Dunn said the diagnosis will have to wait until the doctors can get a clear picture of his brain. "Right now, it's still murky," Dunn said. Dunn does not expect the commissioner to return home from the hospital this week, and said it could be up to two months before Pfeifer returns to county commission meetings. Pfeifer lives in Peachtree City.
