P&Z looks at stores, restaurants By MONROE
ROARK
Some new and existing restaurants and a new grocery store are among the topics to be covered by the Fayetteville Planning and Zoning Commission this month. The work session is Tuesday at 7 p.m. at City Hall. The regular monthly meeting will be the following Tuesday, Dec. 17, at 7 p.m. Developers of the proposed Bugaboo Creek Steakhouse are on the commission's agenda this month. This site, adjacent to Fayette Pavilion on Ga. Highway 85, is one of three lots on a recently approved preliminary plat for the area. Other proposed developments include an O'Charley's restaurant on one lot and a single building with Moe's Restaurant, Ted's Montana Grill and a retail shop on the other lot. ALDI, Inc., has proposed the construction of a 16,300 sq. ft. grocery store between NTB and Lowe's on Ga. Highway 85. The development plans were tabled last month so that a few issues, such as parking and landscaping, could be addressed. Some changes have been made, and city staff recommends approval. The owners of Wendy's restaurant on North Glynn Street want to put in an additional drive-thru, and proposed renovations include realigning the second pick-up window and adding new curb and concrete paving. Drive-through facilities are allowed in C-3 zoning by special exception, but this restaurant was built before the present ordinance was adopted, so a rezoning from C-2 to C-3 is needed along with the special exception. City staff has recommend approval. Other items on the commission agenda include: Revised preliminary plat, The Villages @ Habersham Park, Habersham Place. Annexation and rezoning, The Legend at Redwine, Redwine and Price Roads. Development plans and variance, Shops on Autumn Glen, Ga. Highway 54 east. Development plans, Jeff Davis site, 485 N. Jeff Davis Drive. Development plans, amenity area at The Villages at LaFayette Park, Dorsey Park. Proposed amendment to the Zoning Ordinance to address pervious pavers. Proposed amendment to the M-1 Zoning Ordinance (light manufacturing district) and M-2 Zoning Ordinance (heavy manufacturing district) to allow vehicles for hire and firing range.
