Grace Christian Academy to open high schoolGrace Christian Academy, in its 13th year of operation, has announced it will begin taking high school students next school year. The school plans to begin with a ninth grade in the fall of 2003 and add an additional grade for each of the next three years. The first graduation of seniors will be the class of 2007. "The move to continue the program through high school was the product of a grassroots effort by parents of our older students," said principal Brian Fourman, now in his fifth year at Grace Christian. "They wanted to continue in the educational atmosphere we were providing for them. "Our primary goal is to provide a quality, college-preparatory, Christ-centered environment where our kids can grow spiritually and academically," Fourman continued. "We strive to provide a partnership with Christian families who are in Bible-believing churches for the education of their children." Eighth-grade students, and members of Grace's first graduating class, Jeremiah Redman and Tonia Kerner are looking forward to the expansion. "I think it will be good to be in an environment where there is discipline and we can learn," commented Jeremiah. "I'm excited to be able to stay here at Grace," said Tonia. "It's a really good school." Grace Christian Academy began in 1990 educating children in grades preschool K-4 through sixth grade. In 1994 the school added a seventh grade and an eighth grade in 1995. The school is a member of the Association of Christian School International, the Georgia Association of Christian Schools, and the American Association of Christian Schools. The school provides many extracurricular activities for their students including a sports program, academic competitions, music and band, school-wide computer and Internet access, and extended care services. Grace Christian Academy is a ministry of Fayette Bible Church on McDonough Road in Fayetteville.
