Twelve South Fulton students were sent to the hospital Monday after a tractor trailer struck a bus.

Fulton County Schools spokesperson Susan Hale said that at approximately 8 a.m. Monday morning one of the county's buses transporting students to Creekside High School was traveling on Ga. Highway 138 and had stopped at Windsor Forest Apartments to pick up students when it was struck from behind by a tractor trailer.

Twenty-two Creekside students were on board, and 12 of the students were transported to local hospitals for observation after complaining of neck and back pain, Hale said.

Neither the driver of the school bus nor the tractor trailer driver were injured and Union City Police, as well as the Fulton County Schools Police Department investigated the cause of this accident.
