Wednesday, November 13, 2002 Three model homes completed in Villages
The three furnished and decorated model homes are open and construction is underway on six spec homes in The Villages at LaFayette Park, the new multiuse community in Fayetteville. The development will ultimately have 151 single-family detached homes featuring turn-of-the-century styles with prices starting in the $200,000s. The builders are all established and well known local companies, including Mike Harrell & Associates, Ravin Homes, and Ray Wright Homes. In addition to these Classic American Village and Cottage homes, there will also be 22 estate homes on larger homesites. Work has also begun on 30 townhouses which will be constructed by Chris Dixon & Associates, another well-known member of the local building community. Mike Harrell & Associates and Chris Dixon & Associates are being represented in the development by Jan Trammell Realty, whose agents, Jackie Ard and Debi Stansell, can be contacted at 770-461-3293. Ravin Homes' in-house marketing agents are DeSales deGolian and her assistant, Carla Messic, whose number is 770-461-0219. Ray Wright Homes has chosen Re/Max Around Atlanta to handle sales, with Marcia Bolton and Sheila Jordan as the on-site agents. Their number is 770-461-7030. The Villages at LaFayette Park is an approximately 110-acre development three blocks west of the Old Courthouse Square in Fayetteville and bordered by Ga. Highway 54 on the south and the Fayette County High School complex on the north. The developer, The Eagle Group, has described the concept as similar to Celebration in Florida. In addition to the residential units, the community will also contain several parks, a junior olympic pool, playground, and commercial and office space. Also on the property is The Villages Amphitheater, which opened in September. The amphitheater, a multiuse venue representing all aspects of the cultural arts and educational community, is located on a three-acre tract at the intersection of LaFayette Avenue and Tiger Trail and will share the parking lot at Fayette County High School. Prior to the opening events at the amphitheater, representatives of the city of Fayetteville, Main Street Fayetteville, and the Fayette County Chamber of Commerce toured the three newly-opened model homes.
