Detectives: Man dies after ingesting alcohol, drug mixture at private party By JOHN MUNFORD
A Tyrone man died after ingesting what police believe was a lethal combination of alcohol and the anti-anxiety drug Xanax Saturday at a private party at Whitewater Creek Estates. And a second man from the same party was found unconscious in the middle of Ebenezer Road the same night, police said. Kenneth "Eric" Harkins, 20, of Tyrone was pronounced dead at Newnan Hospital, according to Sgt. Belinda McCastle at the Fayette County Sheriff's Department. Timothy Stuart Tuei, 20, of Fayetteville, was also at the same party before he wandered off and was found in the middle of Ebenezer Road, McCastle said. Tuei is charged with possession of Xanax and underage possession of alcohol. "We believe the drugs were purchased outside of the county," McCastle said. Detectives are still investigating the case, McCastle said. Anyone who was at the party or who may have more information about the incident is urged to contact the Sheriff's Department at 770-461-6353. There are no plans to charge the homeowner who hosted the party, McCastle added.
