Dr. Wirth to speak at Newnan Presbyterian Commitment Dinner

Dr. George Bryan Wirth will keynote the Commitment Dinner as Newnan Presbyterian Church culminates its stewardship campaign Wednesday, Nov. 6, in the church fellowship hall. Wirth's message, based on Psalm 46, is entitled "In God We Trust." The message will be accompanied by a multi-media presentation outlining the achievements of the church's ministries and highlighting the goals for 2003 and beyond.

Winn and Kim Wise, co-chairs of the Stewardship campaign, announced the theme for the campaign "Renewed in the Spirit for 175 Years," reflecting the church's 175th anniversary in 2003.

"This campaign comes at a critical time. The needs within our community and beyond continue to grow. We are seeking to follow Christ in the midst of a growing and changing world. We are fortunate to have Dr. Wirth lead our church family in dreaming for the future," said Dr. Harry Barrow, pastor of Newnan Presbyterian Church.

Wirth is senior pastor of First Presbyterian Church in Atlanta and serves on the board of councilors at The Carter Center. He is a trustee of Princeton Theological Seminary and the Woodruff Arts Center. He was graduated from the University of North Carolina and Princeton Theological Seminary before receiving his Doctor of Divinity from Waynesburg College and his Doctor of Ministry through Pittsburgh Theological Seminary.
