By CAROLYN
CARY
While the county has grown from a mean average of residents of 8,000, from 1830 to 1970, and has grown from then to 95,000 in 2002, so has the number of county employees. In recognition of the longtime service of its employees, nine were treated to lunch at the Village Café. Honored for 25 years of service were Thomas Nations, deputy sheriff/captain, Sheriff's Department; Tony Parrott, director of the Fayette County Water System; and Pamela Reed, accounting supervisor, Finance Department. Honored for 20 years of service were John Wayne Couch, field service representative, Fayette County Water System; Michael "Allen" McCullough, deputy chief, Fayette County Fire and Emergency Services; A. K. Melear, chief magistrate, Magistrate Court; Scott Milam, deputy sheriff/lieutenant, Sheriff's Department; James Munster, water distribution manager, Fayette County Water System; and James A. White, magistrate, Magistrate Court. A reception at the Fayette County Public Library was given in the afternoon for the 57 employees with at least 5 years of service, 30 employees with 10 years service, and 43 employees with at least 15 years of service. The county currently employs 630 people.
