Moore recognized as a top family doctor Karen Harris-Moore, M.D., family practice, has been named one of the top family doctors in the United States by the Consumers' Research Council of America. Criteria for this appointment includes experience, training, professional association and board certification. A native of Atlanta, Dr. Harris-Moore earned her medical degree from Howard University College of Medicine in Washington, D.C. She completed her post-graduate studies at Howard University Hospital, and was named assistant professor at the Morehouse College of Medicine's Department of Family Practice. "I'm flabbergasted," Dr. Harris-Moore said recently about receiving the award. "This is a blessing beyond belief." Harris-Moore emphasized that good health care "stands on the shoulders of good administrators and great nurses," giving credit to her co-workers for their role in her earning this honor. A member of Piedmond Physicians at Peachtree City since 1995, Dr. Harris-Moore is board-certified in family practice and is a Diplomate of the American Board of Family Practice. She is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians, the American Geriatrics Society and the American College of Physician Executives.
