City's millage rate drops

By JOHN THOMPSON
jthompson@TheCitizenNews.com

Senoia residents may see a small decline in their property tax bills this year.

Last week, the City Council voted unanimously to drop the millage rate from 6.11 mills to 6.08 mills.

The drop mirrors a decline that started last year when the rate was dropped from 7.03 mills to 6.11.

While Senoia's property tax rate may drop the city portion of residents' tax bills , residents may see their tax bills increase because the school system is raising its millage rate this year because of a shortfall in revenue from sales tax receipts and state education funds
