Traffic is coming to a halt in Senoia

Traffic relief is coming soon to Senoia.

The City Council voted Monday night to place stop signs at Amy and Morgan streets, Pylant and Seavy, and Morgan and Pylant to try and curtail some of the speeding in the city.

Residents have complained to the City Council that commuters are not abiding by the posted speed signs on Pylant and causing danger to kids that play in the neighborhood.

Police Chief Charles Cannarella said he had personally patrolled the Pylant Street area and had just given out one ticket. But in order to improve the safety of the area, the chief recommended the implementation of stop signs at the three intersections.

The City Council agreed with the chief's recommendation and also added the signs should try and match the historical nature of the signs in the downtown area.

The chief pledged to continue patrolling the area and said the new stop signs should add to the safety of the community.
