Landowner near airport agrees to deed road right-of-way to PTC By JOHN
MUNFORD Progress is being made on an effort to have a privately-owned gravel road adjacent to Falcon Field paved so six new hangar sites can be leased by the city's Airport Authority at a commercial rate. Last week, one of the owners of part of the road agreed to grant the city right-of-way for that portion of the road. Saud Alam, who owns undeveloped land adjacent to Stallings Road and Dividend Drive, agreed The remainder of the road is owned by Peachtree City Holdings, a subsidiary of Pathway Communities. But the authority will assume ownership of Stallings Road once it closes on the purchase of 23.93 acres adjacent to the airport for future hangar space. The funds for that purchase are coming through a grant from the Federal Aviation Administration. Once the authority owns the road, it can begin the process of deeding it over to the city. The hope is to get all the necessary paperwork finished so the project can be scheduled along with the Peachtree City and Fayette County local road projects for next year. Pathway Communities and the Peachtree City Water and Sewer Authority have also agreed to participate financially in the paving of the road so it meets city standards. The anticipated income from the hangar site off Stallings Road would boost the authority's income by $4,000 a month.
