Student writers make history at FCHS

For the first time in the school's history, Fayette County High has two winners in one year for the National Council Teachers of English (NCTE) Writing Achievement Awards. Seniors Christa Kirby and Trevor Mangan are among 100 students nationwide to win the coveted award. Approximately 2,000 students entered the competition. Both Kirby and Mangan will have their poetry published in the NCTE Journal and receive certificates of honor. Also, each winner receives a card noting their award which can be inserted in their college applications.
