Students donate $1,000 to Red Cross

The Fayette County High School student congress recently presented the South Metro Chapter of the American Red Cross with a check for $1,000. The money was raised through the sale of luminaries that were donated by Linens and Things in Fayetteville. The luminaries were used during the school's Honor Heroes Event Sept. 13 which honored all community firefighters, police officers, emergency personnel and military. Lauren Lee, left, vice president of the student congress, and President Alejandro Crawford presented the check to Rueben Brown, center, of the American Red Cross.
