Meet artists at Augustino's this weekend

Three local fine artists whose work is on display at Augustino's Ristorante Italiano in Peachtree City will be present at a reception, wine tasting and special dinner at the restaurant this Saturday, Oct. 19, at 6 p.m.

The artists Georgette Liberatore of Fairburn, Al Fortunatti of Fayetteville, and Eleanor Corbin of Peachtree City have a variety of fine art in oil and pastels displayed throughout the restaurant. All the art is for sale and commissions are welcomed.

Liberatore, a graduate of Long Island University with a B.S. in Fine Arts in painting, studied privately with Hungarian artist Steven Rettegi in New York, attended the Art Students League in New York City focusing on Life Drawing, Anatomy and Composition with Gustav Rehberger, and studied Fine Arts Illustration with Earl Mayan and oil painting with David Lefell. Recently she attended a pastel workshop in New York conducted by Wolf Kahn.

A member of the Pastel Society of America and the Watercolor Society in New York, Liberatore teaches oil painting in the Continuing Education department at Clayton College & State University, and in her studio. Liberatore has had several one-woman shows, received numerous awards for excellence, and formerly represented in Georgia by the Emile Valhuerdi Gallery in Decatur. Her work can be seen in the Grandview Gallery in Buckhead, and in the offices of the governor and lieutenant governor.

Fortunatti attended West Palm Beach Community College and Florida Atlantic University, earning a bachelor's degree in Fine Arts. He is a graphic and Web site designer, working with Fayette County businesses. Fortunatti also creates fine art in oil and pastel. His work hangs in New Jersey and in private homes in Georgia and Florida.

Corbin, a summa cum laude graduate of Mount Aloysius College in Pennsylvania, majoring in commercial art with a fine arts concentration, has participated in juried art shows in Pennsylvania. Her mural design won a competition and was executed in the entrance hall of the Cambria County offices. She specializes in still life and figures in oil and pastel. Her art hangs in private homes in New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Georgia. Corbin is also a professional nurse, and maintains a freelance public relations service.

The reception, dinner and wine tasting features the following special menu: an appetizer of fresh mozzarella and Roma tomatoes with balsamic glaze, choice of two duet entrees; trout Florentine and chicken Parmigiana over fettuccini Alfredo or veal picatta and pesto shrimp over angel hair marinaraall served with three complimentary winesand a dessert of Italian cream cake. The cost is $30.
