Free seminar for Fulton County vendors

Fulton County is sponsoring a free seminar October 19 to help vendors and prospective vendors learn about business opportunities with county government.

The session, designed to disseminate information to contractors throughout Fulton County's marketing area, will be held from 9 a.m. to noon at the Harriett G. Darnell Senior Multipurpose Facility, 677 Fairburn Road, NW, Atlanta.

Attendees will learn specifics of the county's procurement plans for the remainder of 2002, as well as, January 1, 2003 through December 31, 2003.

The seminar will make a special effort to identify opportunities for small and historically disadvantaged businesses in anticipated contract purchases below $50,000, including purchases below $2,500.

Vendors will be given an opportunity to direct questions to technical staff from Fulton County departments including: Information Technology, Health & Wellness, Human Services, General Services, Parks & Recreation, Atlanta-Fulton Public Library, and Public Works (Water & Sewer and Transportation divisions), and justice system agencies.

Minority and female-owned firms, other small and historically-disadvantaged entrepreneurs, and businesses currently registered as Fulton County vendors are also encouraged to attend the seminar.
