Senoia calls a halt to annexation By JOHN
THOMPSON
For the second time in less than a year, Senoia has implemented a development moratorium. The City Council Monday night passed a moratorium on all new annexation requests and rezoning applications. Councilman Robert Belisle made the motion for the moratorium, because he felt the city needs more time to study water and sewer needs for its current and future residents. The City Council made clear that any requests already "in the pipeline" could still be developed, but the city would not deal with any new requests until the city has more time to study issues. The only dissenting vote was Councilman Pat Tunnell. "I'd hate to think that during my entire term, we had a moratorium," Tunnell said. But the other members agreed with Belisle's assessment and passed the motion 4-1. The latest moratorium will expire in April of next year.
