Association unveils new offices

Sixteen past presidents of the organization were among the group gathered for open house at the Home Builders Association of Midwest Georgia's new offices in Fayetteville.

The event also attracted a number of officers and staff members from the Home Builders Association of Georgia, as well as builder and associate members of the local association and other interested persons.

The Home Builders Association of Georgia delegation included officers Griffin White, president; Bill Gandy, immediate past president; Greg Wallace, vice president; Lonnie Williams, associate vice president; Bob Barnard, secretary and past president of the Midwest Georgia association; Tim Williams, treasurer; and staff members Kelly Lass, senior vice president; Jennifer Matthews, director of field operations; and Tyler Newman, field representative.

Eddie Lusher, current president of the Midwest Georgia association, was joined in the celebration by past presidents Bob Dixon (1974), Jerry Tedder (1975), Jack Miller (1980), Chris Parrott (1982 and 1983), Michael Rossetti (1984), Ray Rogerson (1987), Ernie Wright (1988), Jeff Ellis (1991), Steve Enterkin (1992), Kenny Johnson (1994), Richard Simms (1995), Bob Barnard (1996), Randy Hayes (1997), Dennis Floyd (1998), Jeff Betsill (1999), and John Hayes (2000).

Other past presidents of the organization include J. C. Brogdon (1973), Jim Fulton (1976), Gene Barber (1977 and 1989), Rod Barkow (1978), Jim Strickland (1979), Jerry Ballard (1981), John Richards (1985), Kevin Moody (1986), Vince Rossetti (1990), and Ken Wilson (1993).

The gathering also served as the local association's August membership meeting, and Georgia Floors was on hand with its "Weenie Wagon" to provide the meal.

Earlier in the day, the new offices were the scene of a ribbon cutting presided over by Ambassadors and other representatives from the Fayette County Chamber of Commerce.

The offices, purchased from Kenny Johnson Homes Inc., are located in the Executive Office Park, 101 Devant St., Fayetteville.
