Wednesday, October 9, 2002 Open house at Patriots Point More than 150 people turned out for a recent Grand Opening and OpenHouse for Realtors and the community at Patriots Point in Locust Grove, the200-homesite community being developed by John Christian Homes. Johnny Dykes of Cendant Mortgage provided and cooked hamburgers and hotdogs for those in attendance. Walker Concrete furnished drinks, and "AskMary" provided other catered food items. The 60-acre Patriots Point development will have both single family andranch condominium homes priced from the low $100,000s. The model home in thesingle family section is open, and the community already has one move-in andanother home under contract. Current inventory includes 19 homes availablefor purchase, including three and four-bedroom ranch and two-story designs,some with bonus rooms. Located on New Street, Patriots Point is a short distance from theLocust Grove exit on I-75 and can be reached by taking Bill Gardner Parkwayinto Locust Grove, going past the Tanger Outlet Center, and turning right on New Street. Patriots Point will be a swim/tennis community with approximately fiveacres of green space, streetlights, and sidewalks. Four trees will beplanted in every yard, which will be sodded, and all residences will havecar garages. Phase I of the community will be made up entirely of single familyhomes with a minimum of three bedrooms. One-third of the homes will contain1,600 sq. ft., one-third will have 1,500 sq. ft., and one-third will have 1,400 sq. ft.; At least half of these homes will have masonry accents on thefront, and half will have front porches. The ranch condominiums, which will be introduced in Phase II, willconsist of 1,300 and 1,400 sq. ft. homes, and both two and three bedroomplans will be available. Construction is expected to get underway on theinitial spec homes by February. Building the homes in Patriots Point are John Christian Homes and Walden Custom Homes.
