Wednesday, October 9, 2002 Realtor office starts food drive
Harry Norman Realtors will be collecting food from Oct. 21 through Nov. 18 for the Atlanta Community Food Bank, which serves nonprofit organizations throughout the metro Atlanta area. The company has held an annual food drive for more than a decade and has been among the food bank's largest corporate contributors of food for many years. Last year, Harry Norman Realtors contributed more than 24,000 pounds of food and was the fourth highest contributing company citywide. This year's goal is to collect donations of 27,000 pounds of food. The public is invited to help in this effort by bringing non-perishable food items and placing them in the food drive barrels at Harry Norman Realtors sales offices throughout metro Atlanta. Having studied the nutritional needs of the community, the Atlanta Community Food Bank has compiled a list of the following appropriate donation items: dry cereal or oatmeal, dried or canned fruit, powdered milk, 100 percent fruit juice, canned tuna, peanut butter, soup, canned vegetables, canned meats, beef stews, chicken and dumplings, meat sauce, pasta, rice, macaroni and cheese, dried beans and applesauce.
