3 arrested in $100K jewelry heist in PTC Peachtree City police arrested three men believed to be illegal aliens Friday night and charged them with stealing nearly $100,000 worth of jewelry from a courier's vehicle parked in Braelinn Village Shopping Center. Authorities, including the FBI, are still looking for the missing jewelry and an undisclosed number of "Latino, dark-haired males" in a green Toyota Camry who are believed to have been involved in the theft, police said. The incident started around 6 p.m. Thursday evening at the shopping center just off Crosstown Drive in southern Peachtree City. "Multiple individuals had entered a vehicle and removed approximately $100,000 worth of jewelry that was being transported by a courier for numerous Atlanta-based jewelers," police said. Authorities kicked off an intensive search of the area. "Shortly after the theft, complaints of suspicious activity in the area of Hippocket Road were reported to police," according to a police report. "The suspicious individual's description matched the description of the suspects in the theft at Braelinn Village." Witnesses told officers the thieves changed vehicles after committing the theft, police said. About 8:30 p.m. police stopped a vehicle headed north on Ga. Highway 74 and arrested three men inside. Charged with theft by entering an auto is Sellhorn-Vergara Dietrich-Juan Fernando, 26, of Miami, Fla. Police aren't sure yet who the other two men are, but the pair is being held on theft charges while their identities are checked out. Anyone with information in the case should contact Lt. John Jenkins at the Peachtree City Police Department. The phone is 770-631-2510. Cal Beverly (editor@TheCitizenNews.com).
