Local groups help school health services

Thanks to the help of the Kiwanis Club of Fayette County, the Fayette County School Health Services program has purchased four adult CPR mannequins for the training of school clinic staff and teachers. The club assisted with the purchase of the manikins by coordinating donations earmarked for clinic equipment.

Organizations and individuals who made monetary donations were Tyrone Elementary PTO, Sandy Creek High School PTO, Peeples Elementary PTO, Dr. Randall Mikean, Dr. David Petrie and Dr. Anthony Lawson.

The Fayette County School Health Services program is continually growing with a current total of 25 school clinics, one for each public school. These clinics presently serve 20,000 of the county's students.

"The support of our community's education system is appreciated. Organizations have assisted in making this School Health Services program in Fayette County successful," said Debbie King, head nurse of the program.
