Night school offered
Fulton County High School students have an opportunity to earn additional high school credits by attending a nine-week night school. Registration dates for the next session are September 26 through October 2, with classes beginning October 15. Two more sessions will be held second semester. Courses will be offered at McClarin High in south Fulton and Independence High in north Fulton. Priority is given to students currently enrolled in Fulton County high schools who need to make up a failed class, Fulton County students wishing to take additional high school courses, and to Fulton County residents aged 16 and older who are not currently enrolled in school. Students enrolled in schools outside the Fulton County School System may attend on a space available basis. Courses are offered in mathematics, language arts, social studies, science, and two electives (finance and child psychology). The cost for in-system students is $160 per 1/2 unit. Out-of-system students pay $360 per 1/2 unit. There is no cost for Fulton County residents aged 16-21 who are not currently enrolled in school. In-system students register with their home school counselor. Out-of-system students and those not currently attending school should register at either McClarin High, 3605 Main Street, College Park; or Independence High, 791 Mimosa Boulevard, Roswell. For more information, call McClarin High at 404-669-8080; Independence High at 770-552-6333 or the school system's Continuing Education Department at 404-669-8057.
