The department is also investigating a burglary scam operated by two individuals in the area on three separate occasions recently.

In some cases, one person approaches a homeowner, claiming to have struck an animal that ran into the victim's back yard, police say. After asking the homeowner to help him find the animal in the back yard, the second person enters the house and removes valuables, according to police.

The suspects are believed to be driving a late 80s or early 90s model light blue or gray vehicle. Anyone observing suspicious activity in the neighborhood is asked to contact police as soon as possible.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact Lt. John Jenkins with the criminal investigations division at 770-631-2510. A $2,500 reward is offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person(s) responsible for these crimes.
