Local authors to speak at PTC library Thursday night Three local authors will be featured at a special program at the Peachtree City Library Thursday at 7 p.m. Sara DeLuca, Dr. Carolyn Zavorine and Dr. Gregory K. Moffatt will speak about their latest works and answer questions from the audience. DeLuca is the author of "Dancing the Cows Home/A Wisconsin Girlhood," which was awarded a Wisconsin Book of Merit Award in 1997 and later adapted for the stage. She has also published a collection of poetry titled "Songs from an Inland Sea." A new resident of Peachtree City, DeLuca is eager to become involved in her new community and to meet other writers in the area. Dr. Zavorine's novel, "Unsafe Haven," takes place in a nursing home and although it deals with a difficult subject it is surprisingly upbeat and easy to read. After finishing medical school and interning as an obstetrician-gynecologist, Zavorine became a science writer and editor. Later, she returned to medicine and worked in geriatric psychiatry. Dr. Moffatt's latest book is "A Violent Heart: Understanding Aggressive Individuals." Moffatt, a psychologist, homicide profiler and college professor, hopes to help teachers, police and parents understand how aggression develops so they can help prevent it. Dr. Moffatt's first book was "Blind-Sided: Homicide Where it is Least Expected." He is now working on his third book, "Wounded Innocents/Fallen Angels."
