Distinguished Principal of 2002 from Fayette

Huddleston Elementary School principal Rebekah Maddox has been named Georgia's Distinguished Principal for 2002 by the Georgia Association of Elementary School Principals (GAESP).

The association says Maddox was chosen for the honor because she exemplifies leadership of the highest quality. In her work, she has demonstrated a concern for educational excellence by developing programs designed to meet academic and social needs of all children and has put the well being of every child at the forefront of school planning and operations.

"Ms. Maddox's distinguished leadership and extraordinary service as an educator exhibit her determination to improving young lives," said Phyllis Chastian, executive director of GAESP. "She is to be commended for her achievement in developing the human talent that will carry our state into the 21st century."
