YMCA honors Partners with Youth

Rod Arion and Dennis Curtin of Gilbert Southern Company dropped by recently to visit with YMCA summer campers. The company received a plaque honoring donors of $1,000 and above to the YMCA 2002 Partner with Youth annual giving campaign.

Gilbert Southern Company's support has significantly impacted Y programs during the year, and the volunteer board, parents and children are grateful to donors who care about the Y and the community.

The Fayette Family YMCA appreciates the emotional and monetary support given to help families and children with program fees. One hundred percent of contributed support stays local to meet the community's growing need. In 2002, this community was a partner in helping 46 families participate in summer day camp, swim lessons and Y Indian Guides.

Contributions to Partner with Youth allows the YMCA to develop spirit, mind and body in summer day camp; reinforce character values through outreach programs like community service and outdoor adventure; teach children and adults water safety skills in swim lessons; and provide financial assistance to those who cannot afford the full cost of programs to keep them accessible to everyone in the community.

In light of today's crisis on the homefront, the YMCA's commitment to building strong kids, strong families and strong communities is even more relevant.

Now more than ever, the Fayette Family YMCA invites everyone to share in a vision that values and involves young people as a precious resource in the community. The need to provide safe places and nurturing programs for young people becomes greater each year. For more information on the 2002 Partner with Youth campaign, call 770-719-9622.
