By JOHN
MUNFORD
Two local men have been arrested for robbing a north Fayette man at gunpoint the evening of Friday, Aug. 23. William D. Jones of Fayetteville and Tariq I. Rachaman of Fairburn are both charged with armed robbery, aggravated assault and kidnapping. Fayette sheriff's detective Aaron Fenimore said that that Jones held a gun to the victim's head and took cash from his pockets while Rachaman held a metal pipe to the victim's throat. Both suspects then forced the victim to walk behind a nearby shed, remove his clothing and lie face down on the ground, according to arrest warrants filed with the Fayette County Magistrate Court. At one point during the altercation, Jones verbally threatened to shoot the victim if he did not comply with Jones' orders, the warrant states. Bond for each suspect has been set at $75,000.
