Police: Fville man hit mother with wooden chair By JOHN MUNFORD jmunford@TheCitizenNews.com Police say a Fayetteville man struck his mother with a wooden chair and then turned on two Fayette County Sheriff's detectives who had responded to the scene last week. Randell Hatcher, 38, has been charged with three counts of aggravated assault and one count of criminal damage to property in the second degree, according to warrants filed with the Fayette County Magistrate Court. The warrants claim Hatcher struck his mother with the chair and also charged at the two detectives with a wooden handle in an attempt to injure them. The incident occurred Aug. 20, according to warrants. Hatcher also used a wooden pole to hit his mother's van, busting the front and driver's side windows, according to warrants.
