Election Tuesday
By JOHN THOMPSON South Fulton residents head to the polls Tuesday with only one contested school board race on the ballot. Voters in the east point and Union City area will decide whether District Six incumbent school board member Zenda Bowie goes back to the board or newcomer Frank Poindexter is elected. One of the more interesting races is the newly-created 13th Congressional District. Democratic voters will choose between five candidates to face Republican Clay Cox in November. The Democrats vying for the seat are State Senator Greg Hecht, State Senator Donzella James, business consultant Embry Malone, advertising agency owner David Scott and attorney David Worley. The South Fulton Citizen asked candidates to give voters a synopsis of their views. Their responses appear on page 2A. The polls are open from 7 a.m.-7 p.m.
