Memorial service Sunday for PTC man killed during police chase

A memorial service will be held Sunday for a Peachtree City man who died several weeks ago in an automobile collision brought on by a high speed police chase.

The public is invited to attend the memorial service for Chuck Vicha, which will be at 2 p.m. at Braelinn Baptist Church on Robinson Road. A reception will follow the service in honor of Mr. Vicha's mother, Alice Vicha, in honor of her upcoming 70th birthday. The community is invited to the reception as well.

Mr. Vicha was remembered by friends and family as a gentle person who was known for his creative Christmas tree displays along with his gardening and landscaping talents.

Mr. Vicha was attempting to turn left onto Ga. Highway 54 West after a shopping trip to the Stein Mart store early evening Saturday, July 27 to purchase clothes for an upcoming family vacation, his mother said. The vacation to Cleveland was planned to celebrate family birthdays, and Mr. Vicha would have wanted for his mother to be honored even in his absence, said a cousin, Leslie Sisk, who also lives in Peachtree City.
