Voters head to the polls Tuesday

Coweta County voters head to the polls Tuesday to elect two school board members and select the Republican nominees for two County Commission posts.

In the First District Board of Education race, incumbent Steve Bedrosian faces off against Haralson's Ted Bateman, while the Fourth District race pits Brian Roy against Blair Walker.

Incumbents Mike Sumner and Smith Pass are facing no opposition in their races.

In the County Commission races, Third District incumbent Commissioner Lawrence Nelms faces opposition from Larry DeMoss and former Commissioner Charlie Jones. The winner will face Democrat Willie Pritchett Jr. in November.

The Second District Commission race also has a trio of candidates. Jeffrey Estep, Richard Hodges and Gregory Tarbutton face off to determine the Republican candidate for the November election. The winner faces Democrat John Houston.

Polls are open from 7 a.m.-7 p.m. Tuesday.
