Wednesday, August 14, 2002 Home Power Realty president gets soaked Home Power Realty is an "equal opportunity employer" ... in more ways than one. Just ask Home Power's president and owner, Mike Roberts. "Yes sir," said Roberts. "I gave all our agents an equal opportunity to dunk me at our Home Power Fiesta." Home Power Realty hosted its first "Agent Appreciation" day with a Mexican Fiesta in mid-June. With a strolling mariachi band, loads of food, games and prizes for children of all ages the big hit was still the dunking booth manned by none other than Mike Roberts himself. "I guess we should have charged a dollar for each throw ... then we could have paid for this whole thing twice over," Roberts joked. It's no joke, however, how Home Power Realty has taken south Atlanta by storm. With sales exceeding $62 million in 2001 and over $20 million in sales this year, Home Power Realty is truly making a name for itself. Cookie Roberts, broker-owner of Home Power Realty, said of the day, "I really enjoyed the whole 'family' feeling we have around here; unfortunately, I didn't have the heart to dunk Mike." Or the strength, as some agents observed. "Cookie was in the middle of teaching our 8-day 'Pathway to Power' sales training course and still had the time to put together our company picnic," said agent Brandon McDowell. "Where she gets her energy, I'll never know!" Everyone had a wonderful time and Cookie Roberts was heard to say, "I always knew Mike was all wet!"
