PTC police win annual Fayette Co. public safety games second year in row
The Peachtree City Police Department recently won the annual Fayette County Public Safety Competition for the second time in a row. The competition pits public safety departments against each other in a friendly battle of sporting events as individuals and teams winning events collect points for each victory. The Peachtree City police hauled in 48 points this year, ahead of the 35 points tallied by the Fayetteville Police Department and the 26-point mark from the Fayette County Sheriff's Department. Peachtree City was presented with the trophy which it will keep until next year's competition when it again goes up for grabs. This year, competition took place in a variety of events ranging from basketball and volleyball tournaments, a fishing competition and golf skills contests. The event is sponsored each year by the Fayette County Recreation Department. Other participating public safety departments included the Fayetteville Fire Department, the Tyrone Police Department and the Fayette County 911 communications center. John Munford
