WASA to retreat at new building Saturday By JOHN
MUNFORD
When the Peachtree City Water and Sewerage Authority holds its annual retreat Saturday, it will be meeting at WASA's new administrative offices on Ga. Highway 74 South at the entrance to the Rockaway waste water treatment plant. During the retreat, the authority will also hold its regular monthly meeting, during which it is slated to award a contract for construction of the expansion of Rockaway and Line Creek waste water plants. That meeting is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m., followed by a lunch break. The authority will also get its first look at the budget for the upcoming fiscal year and a demonstration of the computer system used to regulate the system's pump stations. Officials will also present an update about new regulatory requirements for local sewer systems. The retreat begins at 8 a.m. with a tour of the new administrative and maintenance facility the first item on the agenda. The new building features a larger conference room than WASA's older facility. This was designed so there would be more room for members of the public who might be interested in attending the meetings.
