Senoia's festival gets postponed The vision of a vibrant arts festival in downtown Senoia got postponed for probably a year. City Councilman Bill Wood told the council Monday night that the undertaking would take a tremendous amount of planning and preparation to stage it this year. Senoia Historical Society president Perry Benson had appeared earlier this summer before the council to get permission to stage the Historic Senoia Festival of Arts Oct. 26-27 in the streets of the historic eastern Coweta city. The festival would feature several components, he said, including a juried art show and music competition. "We want this to be a real Chamber of Commerce event for Senoia," Benson said. But, when it started planning the event, the Historical Society realized it would need a lot more volunteers. Originally, the group also wanted to stage a street dance in downtown, but that was cancelled early in the planning process. Wood, who is also in the Historical Society, is hopeful the event can be held next year.
