A stolen weapon allegedly used in a Cobb County murder on July 24 was turned up by Peachtree City Police Monday evening as they assisted Cobb authorities with the investigation.

The weapon was recovered after police spoke with Troy A. Serapion at his residence in the Twiggs Corner Condominiums, police said. Cobb police had tracked the weapon's last location to Peachtree City, where it had been reported stolen, police said.

Details about the murder were unavailable at press time Tuesday.

As police executed a search warrant at Serapion's residence, they found suspected methamphetamine and other items commonly used in the sale of illegal narcotics, police said.

Serapion was arrested for theft by receiving stolen property and possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute.
