The investigation is still continuing in Monday's murder-suicide at the South Fulton branch of the Atlanta-Fulton County Library.

Lt. Darryl Halpert of the Fulton County Police Department received the call about 10 a.m. Monday morning that a shooting had occurred at the library.

An unnamed witness told officers she had left the library at 9:40 a.m. to go out and get coffee. When she arrived back at the library just before 10 a.m., Gladys Dennard, 52, and John Egleston, 31, were dead on the floor with gunshot wounds.

Dennard was Egleston's supervisor and had recently disciplined him, Halpert said. The department is treating the case as a murder-suicide, and will only say that Dennard had multiple gunshot wounds, while Egleston had one wound.

Denard had worked in the library system for more than 30 years, Halpert added.

Officials have indicated the library will probably be closed until the middle of next week.
